  The Community Reinforcement and Family Training support group teaches a skill-based approach to building better communication with loved ones who have any kind of addiction. CRAFT also emphasizes that family members of substance users must take care of themselves.

  We offer free confidential counseling, referral and support services, adoption placement and post-adoption services.

  WISE Families Program (CAFS)

  Wrap Around Intensive Services for Families - WISE Families is a community-based program that provides assessment, treatment, education, prevention and support services to children and families who have either experiences child-on-child sexual abuse within their families or social network or have concerns regarding sexual behavior.

  Addresses the needs of families who are involved with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency in Bergen and Passaic Counties and when Therapeutic Supervised Visitation is being recommended by the Division.

  The Disability Support Services department of Children's Aid and Family Services provides several "programs without walls". These are programs that are generally conducted at a child's home or in the community, providing one on one services with both the child and their family.

  STRIVE (CAFS)

  STRIVE is a structured skill development day habilitation program for adults ages 21 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program fosters independence, develops social/life skills and strengthens community inclusion by honoring personal development and choice.

  EPIC Parenting Program (The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources/CAFS)

  Hackensack

  In 12 two-hour sessions, you will learn to keep the “loving connection” from infancy, through elementary school, throughout the difficult years of adolescence, and beyond. Groups are generally made up of 8-12 people of all ages, who may be single parents or couples, and come from various backgrounds.

  Strengthening Families Program (The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources/CAFS)

  This is a multi-week program that is aimed at parents and/or caregivers and their youth ages 10-14.  The program helps parents and caregivers build on their strengths in showing love and setting limits, helps youth develop skills for building a positive future, and helps families grow together and become stronger.

  The Bergen County Prevention Coalition (BCPC) is a collaboration of individuals and organizations that are committed to, and passionate about reducing the rates of alcohol and drug use among youth and young adults in Bergen County.

  The Bergen County Prevention Hub is an initiative of The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources which is a program of Children’s Aid and Family Services. Bergen County’s Prevention Hub was created in collaboration with The New Jersey Prevention Network (NJPN) to support the members of our community by providing a direct link to evidence based support services and educational programs.

  Statewide organization whose mission is to protect children by strengthening families through support groups and a 24-hour hotline.

  Birth Parent Support Group (CAFS)

  Fair Lawn

  The Birth Parent Support Group is a free support group that meets monthly for anyone who is thinking about placing a child for adoption or who has placed a child for adoption in the past. This group is also open to the birth parents’ family members. The group discusses issues of grief and loss that may arise as a result of this decision. For more information, call Marcia Fisher 201-740-7038.

  Baby Basics (CAFS)

  Paramus

  The Baby Basics program serves low-income families living and/or working in Bergen County by providing them with free formula, diapers, and other vitally needed supplies for their babies.

  Each family is supported for up to two  years and once each month visits one of our distribution sites in Ridgewood, Paramus, Carlstadt, Garfield or Hackensack to receive their supplies.

  Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources (CAFS)

  The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources, a Program of Children’s Aid and Family Services, provides substance misuse prevention, education, information and referral services to county residents, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, municipal alliances and social service agencies. Many of our services are offered to the public at no cost.

  The Center also provides support on the journey of recovery, including peer-to-peer recovery services, case management, resources and links to community services as well as support for individuals whose loved ones are suffering from the disease of addiction. Programs for older adults that keep them socially connected while promoting wellness and celebrating healthy aging are also offered.
