The LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Center at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center was designed to meet the primary care needs of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you need gender-affirming hormone therapy, HIV care, PrEP, or an LGBTQ+ affirming provider who will make you feel welcome, we’re here for you.
Primary Care: Everything You Need
At the LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Center, we make sure you receive all the care you need. Your primary care provider will take an affirming and holistic approach to your overall health.
If your primary care needs include gender-affirming hormone care, PrEP, or sexual health care, we take care of that right here. We’ll ensure you get the proper preventive care screenings and address your other health and wellness needs. No question or concern is off-limits with us—we are here for you.
Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy
We use an informed consent approach to initiating gender-affirming hormone therapy. You’ll see your primary care provider for all the information you need to decide if hormone therapy is right for you and to have lab services before initiating hormone care. Medications are conveniently available on-site at the Bergen New Bridge Pharmacy.
PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis medication for HIV prevention)
With our integrated lab services, in most cases, we can initiate your PrEP prescription on the same day as your visit. We can offer both standard daily PrEP regimens and the on-demand option, where you take the PrEP medication based on when you plan to be sexually active—ask your provider for more information.
Sexual Health
We offer comprehensive sexual health screenings tailored to your needs and concerns. Your STI test results will be available quickly—sometimes on the same day. We also provide vaccines for infections that can be transmitted sexually, like mpox, hepatitis A and B, human papillomavirus (HPV), and meningitis.
Preventive Care Screenings
We understand that everyone has different preventive care needs and that some people have body parts that might not align with their gender identity. Your provider will help you determine what preventive care suits your needs and can provide this care or help you navigate trusted referrals if needed.
