F.O.R.W.A.R.D. (Care Plus NJ)

F.O.R.W.A.R.D. (Focus on Resilence with Assistance, Resources & Deternination) is an 8-week psycho-educational group for youth 12-18 years of age who have begun to use or experiment with drugs and/or alcohol. The group is designed to educate youth on the potential dangers of substance use and teaches healthy decision making, positive coping skills, and social activities that do not involve the use of drugs or alcohol.

Program Goals: This group is designed for adolescents who are using or experimenting with drugs and/or alcohol. The goal of this program is to  provide therapy, education, and resources so that the young person can properly manage impulsivity, cope, communicate, and build healthy relationships.

Specialized Services: Participants will engage in groups to provide support and education regarding:

  • Dangers of Substance Abuse
  • Refusal Skills
  • Positive Social Activities
  • Peer Pressure
  • Positive Coping Skills

The program includes:

  • Weekly group visits
  • Random urine screens
  • Family therapy sessions
