Day Programs for Adults (Pillar Care Continuum)

Day Programs for Adults (Pillar Care Continuum)

Our adult day programs provide diverse opportunities every weekday for individuals with developmental disabilities age 21 and over.

We deliver creative and innovative activities supported by staff with the expertise and training to support each individual’s unique personal and medical needs. Our focus is on helping those we serve to reach their maximum potential and become as independent as possible.

We believe that adults with disabilities should have the same rights as any other adults and that reaching adulthood does not limit their ability to continue to learn and grow and be an active member of their community.

Day Habilitation Services

Day Habilitation Services are activities to encourage personal growth, enhance socialization, foster relationships and assist in discovering personal interest.

Activities may include health & fitness, technology, volunteering, communications skills, music, art, ADL skills, recreational activities, and more. Multiple activities are offered each day which allows participants to engage in activities based on their own choices. A variety of activities are planned in the community to increase integration and inclusion on a regular basis.

  • Meals: A balanced lunch is provided to all individuals that attend the program.
  • Specialized Activities: Pet Therapy, Hair Stylists, and Dental Hygienist on site throughout the year to offer individualized support to participants and families.
  • Volunteering: Volunteers from different organizations, schools, and backgrounds volunteer in our programs to create group activities and/or work one-on-one as a mentor and companion to individuals in the programs.
  • Transportation: Door-to-door transportation is provided to individuals within the specific catchment area of our program sites.

Prevocational Services

Prevocational Services include activities that encourage learning and work experience to prepare for future employment such as:

  • Career Exploration
  • Resume Building
  • Mock Interviews
  • Enhancing Technical Skills

Funding, Referrals, and Enrollment

Our day programs are funded/regulated by Medicaid/New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).

Participants must be eligible for and enrolled in Medicaid at the time of enrollment. Each *denoted service requires budget allocation.

The enrollment process starts with your assigned Support Coordinator submitting a referral. Once the referral is received, a tour will be scheduled to view the facilities and discuss supports that are needed.

If our program is an appropriate match, our team will work diligently to ensure all intake paperwork is received in a timely matter so that services can begin. Paperwork includes but is not limited to ISP (Individualized Service Plans), annual physicals, prescriptions, and consent forms.
