FALL SPORTS RUN FROM SEPTEMBER TO MID NOVEMBER

SOCCER:  Open to all Cliffside Park residents from grades 1 thru 8.  All games are played on our turf field at the West Grantwood Park on Oakdene Avenue.
Clinic division – grades 1 & 2
Junior division – grades 3 -4 -5
Senior division – grades 6 -7  -8

FOOTBALL:  Playing in the Bi-County Junior Scholastic Football League along with teams from Fort Lee, Weehawken, Ridgefield, Palisade Park, River Dell, Westwood and Secaucus.  Open to all youngsters in grades 2 thru 8 from Cliffside Park and Fairview.  All home games will be played on our turf field at the West Grantwood Park on Oakdene Avenue on Friday nights.
Pee Wee division – grades 2 -3 -4
Junior division – grades 5 – 6
Senior division – grades 7 – 8

CHEERLEADING:  Open to all Cliffside Park girls in grades 4 to 8.  Our cheerleaders will be cheering for our football teams.  There are 3 divisions:
Pee Wee division – grade 4
Junior division – grades 5 – 6
Senior division – grades 7 – 8

Look for flyers for all of our fall sports to be sent to the schools at the end of May.  All flyers will also be posted here on our web-site with registration dates, times and fees.  All fees can be paid in cash or by checks made payable to the Borough of Cliffside Park.  Proof of residency must accompany all registrations.  For more information on any of our programs, please call the Recreation Office at 201-945-2578.

WINTER SPORTS RUN FROM MID NOVEMBER TO MID MARCH

WRESTLING:  Open to all Cliffside Park and Fairview youngsters from grades 1 to 8.  Practices are held twice a week at the High School Wrestling Room.  Matches are held on Saturday mornings at various locations.

BASKETBALL:  Open to all Cliffside Park youngsters in grades 1 thru 8.  Our clinic divisions are co-ed, our junior and senior divisions have boys and girls teams.  The clinic divisions begin in January playing at School # 3 and School # 4 twice a week in the evenings.  Our junior and senior divisions start practicing in December and play all their games in School # 6 beginning in January.

Look for flyers for our winter sports to be sent to all schools at the end of October.  All flyers will also be posted here on our web-site with registration dates, times and fees.  All fees can be paid in cash or by checks made payable to the Borough of Cliffside Park.  Proof of residency must accompany all registrations.  For more information on any of our programs, please call the Recreation Office at 201-945-2578.

TENNIS LESSONS:  We offer tennis lessons twice a year, once in the Spring  (April – May) and again in the fall (September –October)  The sessions are 5 weeks long and are held on Saturday mornings on the tennis courts at the West Grantwood Park on Oakdene Avenue.

DANCE CLASSES:    Open to all Cliffside Park youngsters ages 3 to teens.  A variety of dance classes are held on Saturday mornings at School # 4 from the beginning of November to mid June.  There is a dance recital at the end of the classes.  Age of children determines class times.

SUMMER RECREATION CAMP:
            This is a 7 week summer camp for all Cliffside Park children from ages 4 to the 8th grade.  Camp is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM beginning the end of June to mid August.  It is held in the West Grantwood Park on Oakdene Avenue.  There are sporting events, games, arts and crafts and various outdoor activities daily.  There are also many trips to go on which are optional and additional.  Booklets with the entire summer camp calendar will be given out at time of registrations.  The park is closed down to everyone except our campers during these hours.  Every child needs to take a photo for their ID badges at the time of registrations.

HOLIDAY EVENTS:
            The recreation department handles several special events for the holidays.  Look for flyers to be posted before Easter, Halloween and Christmas with all pertinent information.

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL:  Both of these sports are done through the Baseball Association with registrations taken in January.  The season runs from April through June.  For information regarding these sports, please call the Baseball Association at
