Youth Advocate Presenter Program (NJCTS)

NJCTS is looking for youth ages 13-17 to participate in the Youth Advocate Presenter Program. As a presenter, our youth have the unique opportunity to share their powerful voices with a variety of audiences including younger students, teachers, new doctors, law enforcement, and community members. During these presentations, audiences will not only learn factual information about Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders, but what it is like to live with this challenging condition.

Our Youth Development Coordinator will help you design your presentation and you will have the opportunity to shadow another Youth Advocate. No previous experience is required, just a desire to speak up for yourself and others!

Below is a list of variety of audiences one can expect to be called upon to speak to:

  • School children in grades k-12
  • School Support Staff, Teachers and Administrators
  • Nurses and Doctors
  • Community Organizations
  • Law Enforcement
  • Teen Conferences

As an NJCTS Youth Advocate Presenter you will be asked to:

  • Work with the Youth Development Coordinator to prepare presentations (don't worry, you'll be guided each step of the way!)
  • Be available to periodically speak during a school day, both virtually or in person
  • Regularly check email for important information
