Bridges to Employment (Division of Family Guidance)

The Bridges to Employment Program is a job-readiness, career development program to assist participants in becoming effective members of the workforce.

Overview:

  • Serves as an introduction to the world of work for young adults ages 16-21
  • Participants work individually with a vocational counselor
  • Vocational counselor provides instruction, support, and guidance for each individual's employment and possible career direction
  • Diagnostic testing of basic skills to indicate strengths and weakness of participant

 Services:

  • Explore career interests
  • Develop job-related life skills
  • Improve interviewing skills
  • Tutor in basic skills
  • Assist in completing job allications
  • Help in obtaining and maintaining employment
  • Monitor work progress
  • Mentor and advocate for participants
  • Encourage furthere education
