Any individual employed at least 20 hours per week at a business or non-profit is eligible for free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at Bergen Community College.

Courses range from Level 1 to Level 6, each consisting of 40 hours of in-person instruction held at their Paramus campus. 

Scheduling options include:

1. Classes held twice a week for a total of ten weeks.

2. Single weekly session on Saturdays.

Any interested students must take an online, 30-minute placement test to ensure they are assigned to the appropriate level. Alternatively, students can go to their office to take the test anytime from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm (no appointment needed). 

Class schedule options will be given after you have completed your placement test.

Additionally, businesses with at least ten employees have the opportunity to arrange for this training to be conducted at their own office premises. Interested employers should contact: [email protected]
