Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ)

VLJ’s mission is to improve the lives of economically-disadvantaged adults, children, and families in New Jersey by empowering them with tools, advice, and pro bono representation with the goal of securing fair and equal treatment within the legal system.

Services include: 

  • Newark Legal Advice and Resources Clinic for Consumers
  • Divorce Clinic
  • Disaster Legal Response Program
  • ReLeSe Program
  • Military Personnel/Veterans Legal Assistance Project (MLAP)
  • Free legal assistance also available in areas of family law, wills and estates, probate, adult guardianship, bankruptcy, and education/special education
