Lisa D'Acierno and Associates

I am a psychotherapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. My staff and I work to provide a safe nurturing, non-judgmental atmosphere focusing on the individual client's needs. I have been practicing for over 25 years. My experience has focused on children and adolescents with PTSD, ADHD, Asperger's/Autism Spectrum, Depression, Teen Issues, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, Family Struggles, and Trauma. I work with a wonderful team of other compassionate and caring professionals who share my same passion for helping others. I offer teletherapy sessions.

My associates and I work with a large range of clients struggling with challenges throughout different life stages. Since the practice focuses on the individual, my associates and I utilize an eclectic approach, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Object Relations, and Ego Strengths/Supportive Psychotherapy.

I offer group therapy, including children and adolescent groups, social skills groups, teen issues groups, bereavement groups, and psychoeducational groups for parents, couples, and groups for young adults (20's). I offer Skype therapy sessions. I also work closely with a Medicinal Marijuana doctor and am able to perform evaluations.

Groups:

Virtual Summer Pre-Teen Social Skills Group
We are now offering free intakes for virtual groups. This is a psychoeducational group for boys and girls and includes a parent component. It is aimed at helping children develop self-esteem and improve social skills and interaction with their peers. This will be an interactive social skills group with art projects based on members’ needs and goals. Through art and discussion members will explore such topics as relationships, feelings including fears and isolation, losses, and more.

Virtual Summer College Transition Group
We are now doing free intakes for young adults in this transitional stage to discuss such topics as relationships, careers, higher education, peer interactions, and parental relationships. Group will also address complex losses amid the pandemic, such as moving back home, long-distance relationships, loss of study abroad opportunities, and virtual graduation ceremonies. Based on members’ needs and goals, group meetings may include art and mindfulness interventions.

Virtual Summer Group- Teen Girls
Call for a free initial assessment and more information. If a group does not meet your needs, please call and we will work with you to arrange individual sessions or another group. Teen Girls Group will discuss challenges, relationships, friendships, and possibilities for their futures. Based on members’ needs and goals, group meetings may include art and mindfulness techniques. Through positive reinforcement and peer support, this group's focus is to provide a safe place for young adults to get support.
