Essex House (Division of Family Guidance)

The Essex House is a free voluntary program designed specifically for males, ages 16 through 22, which provides therapeutic, prosocial and recreation services in a home-like atmosphere year round. The only commitments for clients are for them to attend one evening and one therapy session a week.

Program hours are from 12 noon to 8 p.m, Tuesday and Wednesday, year round.

The program uses a positive youth development model and incorporates trauma informed care. The program’s design fosters cohesiveness among clients and staff and provides support and services to assist young men as they transition to adulthood.

This program is run by the Bergen County Division of Family Guidance.

Eligibility All program services are free for Bergen County male residents ages 16-22.
