It's natural to feel overwhelmed when faced with the ongoing responsibility of caring for an adult with Alzheimer's disease or a related form of dementia.
I specialize in the care of an older adult with Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia such as Vascular dementia, Parkinson’s disease with dementia, and Lewy Body dementia. I educate and guide family caregivers, train paid caregivers, and offer educational presentations.
With extensive experience, training, and certification as a dementia care specialist, I offer a customized dementia plan of care to educate and empower caregivers. The plan includes strategies to enhance communication, ways to minimize behavior and functional challenges, engaging activities in community-based care options, and if needed resources and referrals to professionals which I have vetted. Recognizing that dementia progressively changes, I offer both short and long-term planning.
With ongoing monitoring and support caregivers develop knowledge, skills, and care approaches that keep the individual with dementia active and safe while restoring their needed peace of mind.
