Children's Wellness: KidsFit Program (RWJBarnabas Health)
(973) 926-2884 or (973) 926-3312
We are proud to host KidsFit, an award-winning pediatric weight management program. The program benefits both children and adults (such as parents and teachers) who play a critical role in maintaining active lifestyles for kids. Enrollment is open to kids ages 7 to 18 and their families.
KidsFit focuses on establishing healthier lifestyle habits for children via exercise, nutrition and behavioral changes that can foster and boost self-esteem. The goal is to prevent serious health complications later in life, instill education and promote healthier habits in children and the adults that help manage their lives.
The KidsFit program:
- Uses school-approved lesson plans and educational materials
- Tailors activities and nutrition education for all learning and age levels
- Engages parents and teachers with assigned homework and projects
- Implements a "Train the Trainer" component to provide insight to teachers
