ANCHOR Tax Relief Filing Deadline Extended to Feb. 28th
Governor Phil Murphy announced that the New Jersey Division of Taxation updated its website to read that the deadline to file the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) property tax relief program applications has been extended to February 28, 2023.
The deadline had previously been January 31, 2023, but has been extended, in conjunction with advertising and marketing, to make sure every eligible New Jerseyan takes advantage of this sizable relief.
The ANCHOR program, which is replacing the previous Homestead Benefit, increases both the size of the benefit and the number of eligible applicants. Applicants with incomes up to $150,000 will receive $1,500 in relief; those with incomes over $150,000 and up to $250,000 will receive $1,000; and renters with incomes up to $150,000 will receive $450 to help offset rent increases.
