Parenting Skills - Nurturing Parenting® Program (Winner & Associates, LLC)
WINNER NURTURED PARENTING® SKILLS PROGRAM
Winner provides Nurtured Parenting® Skills Training, which is a strength-based, family-centered psychoeducation and coaching initiative designed to equip and empower caregivers with alternative approaches to ineffectual child-rearing practices, aimed at long-term nurturing and reform. Nurtured Parenting® strategies are designed to meet the identified needs of the caregiver and to help them develop problem-solving skills, better parenting relations and self-efficacy.
GOALS OF NURTURED PARENTING PROGRAMS
Winner’s Nurtured Parenting® Programs are designed to help prevent recidivism in families receiving social services and to aid in lowering the rate of intergenerational cycles of poor communication through teaching contemporary strength- based parenting practices.
The programs aims to achieve positive outcomes in families by providing a structured, organized and individualized learning and planning process resulting in effective strategies that are relevant to the youth and caregiver.
Through team-based planning and implementation, the Nurtured Parenting® Programs develop self-efficacy, coping, and problem-solving skills of caretakers and youths. The goals, methods, and processes are structured to meet the identified needs of caregivers and to address a range of life areas.
The programs emphasize building the family’s social support network. Activities are designed to help the youth and caregiver recognize, utilize, and build aptitudes, assets, and positive capabilities.
Program sessions focus on replacing negative behaviors with nurturing intentional habits, promoting healthy emotional development, while teaching appropriate role and developmental expectations.
Caregivers and youths are provided with directives in which they practice role play, watch videos, do homework, read parenting handbooks and assessment inventories.
Community excursions, games, and homework directives help them to work together as a family.
