Come learn about Bergen County's Project SEARCH Program - an innovative employment training program for students with disabilities in their last year of high school.
Project SEARCH is an innovative school-to-work program for young adults, ages 18-21, with disabilities. Students will spend a year at a workplace that seamlessly combines on-site classroom instruction, career exploration and on-the-job training and support. The goal for each student is full-time competitive employment in an integrated setting.
The program is modeled on an internationally recognized employment training program developed at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Bergen's partners include Holy Name and Hackensack Meridian Health Hospitals, Bergen County Workforce Development Board, County of Bergen, Bergen County Special Services, Arc of Bergen & Passaic, North Jersey Friendship House, Division of Developmental Disabilities, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
