RISE - Reflections Interactive Summer Experience (Division of Family Guidance)

A summer program open to Bergen County teens entering 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade, or just finished with high school who would like to spend time over the summer learning improvisation, participating in performances and workshops, and meeting other teens with similar interests. Cast members can participate as little or as much as their summer schedule allows.

  • Explore improvisational acting around teen issues!
  • Develop leadership skills - help with fun, interactive workshops for the community!
  • Meet other teens with similar interests and earn volunteer hours!

It’s Free and has Open Enrollment. That means that we accept teens throughout the Summer!

We will offer a VIRTUAL option AND an IN-PERSON option:

Each week cast members need to communicate which session that they prefer, as spaces will be limited. They cannot just show up without securing a spot; applications & consent forms need to be submitted in advance.

Topics include, but are not limited to, bullying, self-esteem, peer pressure, decision-making, prejudice, parent/teen communication, dating, divorce, sexuality, substance abuse, and more.

Teens who are interested need to contact Staci Block, MSW, LCSW, Coordinator of Reflections and RISE.

Eligibility Bergen County teens who have just completed 8th grade through those who just graduated high school,
