Family Support Organization of Bergen County (FSOBC)

FSOBC provides education and support groups open to all families in the community and at no cost. We provide direct family-to-family peer support to families enrolled in the Care Management Organization, Bergen's Promise.

Family Support Organization of Bergen County is a family-run, county-based not-for-profit.

We provide direct family-to-family peer support to families enrolled in the Care Management Organization, Bergen's Promise.

We also provide education, advocacy skill building, and other supports to family members of children with emotional and/or behavioral challenges.  

All programs are provided at no cost to participants. We welcome you to become an active participant in Family Support Organization of Bergen County. Please feel free to call us or come by and visit.

FSOBC offers telephone support to family members, caregivers, and to those who reach out from the Bergen County community needing support with resources. We listen and offer support, information and referrals.

    Get Ready for the New School Year: Understanding Your Special Education Rights and Your Role in the IEP Process (FSOBC)

    This training will give you an understanding of your rights and roles as a parent of a child receiving services in special education. The purpose of federal and state special education regulations is to ensure that all children with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education that includes special education and related services designed to meet their unique needs and prepare them for further education, employment, and independent living. Parents/Guardians have an important role in the development of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the workshop will review the key components of an IEP and discuss the family's role in the process of developing an IEP.
