Bergen County Technical Schools

Bergen County Vocational-Technical High School, the first full-time facility of its kind in the state, opened at 200 Hackensack Avenue. At that time, students studied the union trades of plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and electrical work. The District offers full- and part-time technical instruction to over 18,000 secondary and adult students. Through innovative programs, the district has created a new model for secondary education in New Jersey.

Bergen County Technical Schools - Adult & Continuing Education

BCTS Adult Ed is a post-secondary institution serving the area residents and beyond in the State of New Jersey. The Full-Time Day program is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and offers four programs of study in the trades of Plumbing & Heating, Electrical Technology, HVAC/R, and Business Professional. Part-time programs are offered in the day, evening, and weekends and include ESL, HSE, recreational, enrichment, and various certificated and recertification courses.

Bergen County Veterans Services

Help is available to initiate requests for various programs, services, and entitlements, which includes employment advice and referrals, compensation for injuries received or aggravated during military service, VA home loans, pension, educational benefits, VA healthcare enrollment, VA insurance claims, and request for discharge papers.

Bergen County Wellness Center and Community Outreach (CSPNJ)

Our Community Wellness Centers’ mission is to create a warm welcoming place where people can gain skills and motivation to set and achieve wellness goals necessary for recovery.

We strive to offer opportunities to access education, support and resources to help people in recovery realize a lifestyle centered on wellness in all dimensions (physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, occupational, environmental, and financial).

Bergen County Wellness Check Program

At approximate pre-specified hours, you will receive a free daily phone call from the Bergen County Wellness Check Program to check on your well-being. The call will begin with the following prerecorded message: “This is the Bergen County Wellness Check Program. If you are OK please press '1'.”

Bergen County Wildcats Program

The Bergen County Wildcats Program is a team of special needs athletes ages 8 and above, from around the Bergen County, NJ area. These athletes compete in a variety of Special Olympics sports including volleyball, floor hockey, bowling, basketball, softball and bocce.

The Bergen County Wildcats Program is a NJ non-profit charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Bergen County Workforce Development Board (WDB)

The Bergen WDB does not operate programs or provide direct services — it is a business-led policy, planning, and oversight body that supports employment-related programs for youth, adult workers, and businesses.

Bergen County Youth Services Commission

The purpose of the BCYSC is to promote public safety, accountability and rehabilitation through the planning, implementation and administration of a comprehensive program of sanctions and services for juveniles adjudicated or charged as delinquent and delinquency prevention programs.

Bergen County Zoo

The Bergen County Zoo is a “New World” zoo, exhibiting wildlife from North and South America. You have the unique opportunity to view such rare and unusual species as Baird’s Tapirs, Andean Condors, American Alligators, Golden Lion Tamarins, South American Pampas, and many others.

Bergen Equestrian Center - A Stable Life Program

An equine guided experience for growth, healing and learning. Our equine experiences support family in crisis, at risk youth, substance use and recovery as well as all mental health support. We are not a traditional talk therapy, we are a hands on experience guided by horses.

Bergen Family Center (BFC)

BFC strengthens communities by providing services to individuals, families and children that enhance their ability to function independently, manage challenges and improve the quality of their lives.

Bergen Habitat for Humanity

We join in a common goal with other affiliates of this international organization to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by working in partnership with people in need. Using volunteer labor and donated funds and materials, Habitat builds or rehabilitates simple, decent, homes and sells them to low income families.

Bergen Habitat for Humanity ReStore

A Habitat ReStore sells new and gently used furniture, household good and building materials to the public for a fraction of the retail cost. All proceeds go to support Habitat for Humanity Bergen County in the building of affordable housing for local families.

Bergen HEARTS - Homeless Family Services

HEARTS – Housing, Emergency Shelter, Advocacy Resources, and Tools for Self-Sufficiency

OUR VISION is through the provision of the HEARTS program services the County of Bergen will end homelessness for ALL Bergen County families.

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, a clinical affiliate of Rutgers, is a 1,070-bed hospital located in Paramus. The Medical Center is both the largest hospital and licensed nursing home in NJ and the fourth largest, publicly owned hospital in the nation.
