NJPN's 17th Annual Addiction Conference: Forging Paths to Wellness

New Jersey Prevention Network's Annual Addiction Conference educates prevention & treatment professionals about critical issues surrounding substance abuse, while providing a unique forum for networking, collaboration and workforce development. This year's Addiction Conference will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

Featured Presenters:

Bertha K. Madras, Ph.D.

Dr. Madras' research focuses on addiction biology. In public policy, she served as Deputy Director for Demand Reduction in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). At ONDCP, she advocated for medicalization of the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders. She mainstreamed Drug and Alcohol Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) in healthcare systems as a component of the national drug control strategy.


Carlo DiClemente, Ph.D. 

Carlo DiClemente is the codeveloper of the transtheoretical model (TTM) of behavior change. For over 20 years, he has conducted research in health and addictive behaviors. The recipient of the Maryland Psychological Association's 2002 Distinguished Contribution to Scientific Psychology award, Dr. DiClemente was also one of five winners of the 2002 Innovators Combating Substance Abuse award given by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
