- 2:00 PM
This event has already occurred!
It is the end of the semester and things are hopping at Rutgers University School of Nursing! One of the things we are working on within the Center for Urban Youth and Families is our first social determinants of health education day event on Tuesday, May 22 starting at 9:30 am and ending around 1p. The location is the Ackerson Hall atrium 180 University Ave, Newark.
Jennifer Rosen Valverde, Esq/MSW, Clinical Professor of Law, Education and Health Law Clinic will deliver the keynote address. Attorney Valverde works with vulnerable children and their families and will talk about her work, Brooke Tippens of the Newark Community Schools Initiative will talk about the effects of SDOH and ACEs on Newark school children and their families and discuss how the Community Schools Initiative is addressing these challenges. Lastly, our very own Attorney Keri Logosso Misurell is going to talk about the work that Greater Newark Health Care Coalition ins doing around the topic of ACEs and SDOH.
The event is FREE (my favorite price) and lunch is provided. We'd love to have you and members of your organizations and networks attend. A reply is requested so we can order your lunch. Please use this link to register https://rutgersnursing.wufoo.com/forms/zfgu7wt19zwf3m/
Please share this with your neighbors, colleagues, church family, students, etc... the more the merrier!!
