CarePlus Workshop Series: Prevalence of Substance Abuse, Misuse, and Disorders

This workshop is designed to expand participants understanding of the most common mental health impairments of substance use amongst youth. This workshop will teach professionals to develop competencies surrounding identification and treatment models for this population. Participants will be able to understand what factors contribute to substance use and substance use prevention. Effective evidenced based treatments in addressing substance use disorders for youth will be explored to provide participants with greater knowledge of treatment methods. This workshop will teach professional strategies to increase protective factors for “at risk” youth.
This course, Prevalence of Substance use, Misuse Problems and Disorders; Risk and Protective Factors and Evidence Based Prevention and Intervention for Adolescents, Approval #172107-1214, provided by Care Plus NJ, is approved for continuing education by the New Jersey Social Work Continuing Education Approval Collaborative, which is administered by NASW-NJ. CE Approval Collaborative Approval Period: August 15, 2017 through August 31, 2018. Social workers will receive two (2) clinical continuing education hours for participating in this course.?
