WEBINAR - Anxiety Disorders and Autism: A Frequently Undiagnosed Factor in Problem Behavior

Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have been shown to experience a high rate of co-occurring anxiety disorders.  This creates natural challenges integrating behavioral intervention and other supports related to ASD, with diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders.  This webinar will introduce participants to some of the ways ASD may predispose individuals to increased rates of anxiety.  Based on this understanding, strategies to facilitate identification of anxiety symptoms, especially in youth who have communication difficulties, will be discussed.  Examples of effective strategies to integrate behavior supports and clinical treatment will be presented.
