This event has already occurred!

The Fall/Spring Summits are designed as a continuous program with the goal to motivate,
encourage creativity and foster teamwork through the development and implementation
of new programs that promote the prevention of substance abuse. This school year, the
theme has been “Leading the Way: Teens Take Action Through the Arts.” Utilizing the arts
and their imaginations, students have been working together to develop and implement
an awareness instrument that can be shared as a prevention tool throughout their
schools/communities bringing a positive change. As in the past, the Fall Summit kicked off
the project and students have been working on their video submissions. Therefore, the
May 2018 Summit is the culminating event where students and chaperones will come together
for a day of team building/networking, project presentations and awarding of
grants. High schools are invited to participate and, if possible, again send students that
participated in the October 2017 Summit, preferably students in grades 9 through 11.
Additional information regarding the program can be found on the invitation letter.
NOTE: Please advise parents by including a statement on the student permission slips
that students may be photographed and/or videotaped and photos/videos may be posted
on websites and/or other social media sources .
