"Dis" Ease of Addiction and Principle for a Meaningful Recovery

People often indicate that a person who struggles with addiction has a "problem with drinking” or “problem with drugs” when in reality, the person struggles has no problem putting those things in their bodies at all!  To those who struggle with addiction, the drug of choice is a SOLUTION to a DEEPER problem which includes varying degrees of pain including physical, psychological, emotional, or financial to name a few.  Pain that results from trauma, PTSD, abuse, ACE, and neglect and goes unresolved will continue to manifest itself in the solution of addiction. This workshop will examine the ‘“DIS”ease of addiction and discuss taking a comprehensive, holistic approach that treats the whole person from deep within that can lead to a sustained and meaningful long term recovery as well as the importance of community and connection in the recovery process.
