Community – The Front Line In The Opioid Epidemic: Prevention, Recognition & Management

Purpose
This program for nurses, teachers, school personnel, parents and others who work with children will address the current the opioid crisis in this community. Current best practices for prevention and
management along with the perspective of law enforcement will be presented. A panel discussion will follow the presentations providing attendees with an opportunity to raise their own questions about the epidemic.

Objectives

  • Recognize those at risk for and the signs of opioid abuse.
  • Discuss current practices in the prevention and management of opioid abuse.
  • Describe the perspective of law enforcement in addressing opioid abuse.

Learning Outcome

Nurses in various community settings will utilize information from the program to recognize and address opioid abuse in their settings. This is a free program, space is limited please RSVP to
