Cancer: Thriving and Surviving Program

The Cancer: Thriving and Surviving Program is from Standard University and is a two and a half hour workshop given once a week, for six weeks.

The workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders. Subjects covered are techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation, poor sleep, and living with uncertainty, tips on appropriate exercise for regaining and maintaining flexibility, and endurance, making decisions about treatment, effective communication with friends, family and health professionals, nutrition, setting priorities, and relationships. Sessions are highly participative, and mutual support from participants build self confidence. The goal of this program is to enhance regular treatment and give participants the skills to coordinate the skills need to manage their health, as well as keep them active in their lives and relationships. 

Continuous workshop held every Monday for six weeks starting on April 8th until May 13th. Registration ends March 25, 2019.
